FAQ'S
How long will the new finish last? A Finishings Plus refinished bathtub has a 7 year warranty. However, properly maintained finishes have been known to last many years beyond this warranty period. Is there a warranty? Yes, Finishings Plus prides itself in being able to offer one of the best warranties in the industry. The industry standard is a 5 year warranty. With the extra training and attention to detail we provide during the process we confidently offer a 7 year warranty for our refinished tubs. How do I care for it? Simply follow the same instructions that the original manufacturer recommends and your tub will last you many years. Detailed care insturctions will be included with your invoice. Why not use a less expensive refinisher? I'm sure you'll agree that in any industry, you get what you pay for. Bathtub refinishing is no different. Let's say there's a company that will refinish your tub for $150 and they offer a one year warranty. There's a reason that they only offer a one year warranty. So when that coating fails and begins to peal after the year is up, lets say actually two years later. Then you pay them to come and do it again and two years later again. You've now paid them $450 to do a tub 3 times. When you can have Finishings Plus do it correctly and have peace of mind for 7 years that it is warrantied for less than the $450 you spent with them. Now imagine if that coating fails at the end of every year rather than two years. This is more likely the case in our experience. How long does it take? Your bathtub can be refinished in one day and will be ready for use again the next day. What colors can I choose from? Although most customers choose a bright white finish, Finishings Plus can match other fixtures in your bathroom as well or any other color you choose.
Finishings Plus technicians can refinish porcelain, cast iron, and fiberglass bathtubs, ceramic and porcelain tile, as well as formica and cultured marble countertops. Can you fix rust, chips, cracks and other damage? Yes, Finishings Plus technicians are skilled at repairing and making these types of damage disappear. What does the warranty cover? Your warranty covers workmanship and adhesion issues for 7 years. Following the care instruction outlined on your invoice will ensure a long life of the new coating. These instructions are basically the same as the manufactuers recomendations with one exception. Using bathmats with suction cups will void your warranty. Your complete warrany ad care instruction will be printed on the back of your invoice.
Finishings Plus can't speculate as to why other companies' warranties are what they are. All we can speak of is why our warranty is what it is. From inception Finishings Plus has been focused on providing the best value, highest quality, and best service in the industry. We have tried to reflect this in our warranty.
Finishings Plus has chosen to use top quality coatings which contain solvents giving them their superior durability and gloss retention. They do have an aroma, so all of our technicians are trained in the best ways to minimize this. How long till I can use it again? After the process is complete you will be able to use your tub again in just 24 hours! How much does it cost? While the cost to remove a bathtub and replace it with a new one can cost anywhere from $2,000-$3,000 or more. Finishings Plus can have your bathtub looking brand new again for as little as $300-$500. This is over an 80% savings! Why should I refinish rather than replace? A brand new bathub can be purchsed for $200-$400. At first this may seem like there's not much value in refinishing. However, the total cost of replacing a bathtub can rapidly increase once the job has begun. Even when done yourself, there's tilework, plumbing, sheetrock, painting, disposal of old unit, etc. to take into consideration. And this doesn't even count all the time involved. When a properly trained professional can come in and refinish the tub in one day, have, it looking like new, and you can use it again the next day, why choose the hard way? Not to mention the fact that the factory warranty on a new tub is generally 1 year.... What is the new finish? The new finish is a specially designed, time tested product, specifically formulated, not just for the industry but to out perform others in the industry. Is the new finish slippery? As with other smooth surfaces, a refinished tub can be slippery when it is wet. Finishings Plus can apply an anti-slip bottom to your refinished tub. We do not recommend and strongly advise you not to use bathmats with suction cups as these will void your warranty. Should I refinish before or after other remodeling? Generally, bathtub refinishing is the last item in your remodeling project. This will ensure that the new finish isn't damaged while others are working near it. At least 5% of our business is from damage done to tubs while other work is being performed in the bathroom. What does it look like? Finishings Plus is known for producing tubs that look like brand new.Do you offer free estimates? Yes, feel free to contact us either by phone or through email and we will be glad to provide you with a free estimate. How soon can it be scheduled? Most often we can offer a 72 hour turn around time, however there are times during the year when we are booked for weeks in advance. Contact us either by phone or through email and we will be glad to provide you with our lead time. How does refinishing compare to bathtub liners? Bathtub liners can have a tendancy to leak and allow water to become trapped between the old tub and the new liner resulting in a spongy feeling tub and a musty moldy smell in the bathroom. |
